Fire on the Altar
"Fire on the Altar" is a prayer and worship event that will lift prayer, praise and worship to our King night and day, non-stop!
Come get a taste of what "Fire on the Altar" will be like. Join us in the prayer room at the Great Southwest Prayer Center where this occurs regularly right now!
To worship God because he is worthy.
"I will exalt You, my God and King; I will praise Your name forever and ever. Every day I will praise You and extol Your name forever and ever. Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; His greatness no one can fathom." Psalm 145: 1-3
To promote unity in the body of Christ through prayer, worship and fellowship.
To spread the vision of night and day prayer throughout the region.
To join with hundreds of people to sit at the feet of God, "gaze upon his beauty and seek Him in His temple." Psalm 27: 4, 8.
Churches from the Katy and West Houston areas will be invited to participate in "Fire on the Altar", which means 20 to 25 teams of 3 or 4 people from these churches will carry on consecutive prayer-worship sets.
That will be around 60 to 100 Worship Leaders, Prayer Leaders and Audio/Visual Leaders.
It will require 20 volunteer coordinators and more than 100 volunteers in addition to the Worship Teams to organize the activities involved in 50 hours of worship over 3 days.
Training in a model of worship and prayer will be provided for Worship Leaders, Singers, Musicians, Prayer Leaders and Visual Media operators in advance of the event.
This model is a simple framework wherein worshippers bring their own unique style to the worship within a consistent structure that will help the flow and communication throughout the 50 hours of continuous prayer and worship.
